Young adults in their 20s/30s are invited to join Fr. Anselm Ramelow, O.P. for a discussion of the following topic:

What Were You Thinking? How Our Minds Point Us to God

Description: Does God exist? There is a surprising range of possible ways of proving that this question has to be answered in the affirmative. We will explore one of the lesser known ways of proving God’s existence, namely one that begins from certain features of human knowledge. Certain insights and thoughts that we entertain, even if it were only to reject them, require us to transcend not only this world, but also our own mind. They point us to an encounter with God.

Bio: Fr. Anselm was born 1964 in Germany and is a convert to Catholicism (1989). He obtained an M.A. in history (1990) the University of Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany) and a Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Munich (1995), as well as an M.A. in theology (2002) in preparation for the priesthood (GTU Berkeley). 1996 he entered the Dominican Order in Western Dominican Province, U.S.A. and was ordained to the priesthood in June 2003. After a year of pastoral work he began to teach philosophy at the Dominican School for Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley in 2004. There he is currently the chair of the philosophy department. He was also a year in residence at St. Dominic’s in Eagle Rock!
