First Holy Communion

Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are normally given after a child has reached the “Age of Reason” at seven or eight years of age.

Parish children are prepared during our Wednesday afternoon religious education program, with First Confession in February and First Holy Communion in May. Parents should be prepared to provide the church office with a copy of the student’s baptismal certificate at the time of registration.

Non-parishioner children are welcome to join, space permitting and with a letter granting permission from their pastor provided at the time of registration.

Children in Sacramental Preparation classes for First Holy Communion, must attend Mass at Holy Rosary during the time of their preparation.

Parents of older children, or of children with special needs, are encouraged to contact Mrs. Cary Schmidgall  at cary@holyrosarypdx.org so that arrangements can be made for your child to receive First Holy Communion.
