First Confession/First Communion
*Beginning 2025-26, Preparation for First Confession/First Communion will be a two-year program.
To register for CCD and Sacramental preparation classes, children must belong to families who are registered parishioners at Holy Rosary Church, regularly attending Sunday Mass, and known to the pastor.
Parish children are prepared in a two-year program during the Wednesday afternoon religious education program, 4:30 – 6:00 PM. Children, age 6 on September 1, register for First Confession/First Communion I. This class will be in our Atrium using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
*For the 2025-2026 school year, those children ages 7 - 9 who need to receive the Sacraments of Confession and Communion register for First Confession/First Communion II.
First Confession is in February and First Holy Communion in May of the First Confession/First Communion II class. Please see the calendar for dates.
Parents must provide their child’s baptism certificate at the time of CCD registration for the First Confession/First Communion I class. This can be brought to the office or emailed to office@holyrosarypdx.org

Requirements for Sacramental Preparation of First Confession/First Communion
Be a Registered Parishioner at Holy Rosary Parish
Attendance at weekly Sacramental Preparation Classes. After three absences, a student may be withdrawn from the program.
Regular Attendance at Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation at Holy Rosary
For First Communion I: Copy of Baptism Certificate submitted at CCD registration
For First Communion II: Complete the official First Communion Registration Form online through Flocknote (available after CCD registration closes) with $30 Program Fee
