Tolton: From Slave to Priest

Tolton: From Slave to Priest, the powerful live production performed by actor Andrae Goodnight and directed by Leonardo Defilippis of Saint Luke Productions, will be presented at Aquinas Hall in Portland on Saturday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by Holy Rosary Parish.

Meet Fr. Augustus Tolton, the first African American priest, in this one-man multimedia performance. From his dramatic escape from slavery to his courageous struggle in the face of prejudice, Fr. Tolton’s inspiring life centers around his message reconciliation and hope. This riveting drama is filled with all the elements of professional theater, runs 90 minutes, and is suitable for ages 10 and up.

Tickets will also be on sale in Siena Hall during Coffee & Doughnuts on 9/17, 9/24 & 10/1. The Knights of Columbus will hold a pre-performance dinner in Siena Hall on October 7 at 5:00 PM, featuring smoked pork ribs, macaroni & cheese, collard greens, & peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. A free will offering for the dinner will be taken, with a suggested donation of $10.
