Relic of St. Jude Visitation

  • Holy Rosary Parish 375 Northeast Clackamas Street Portland, OR, 97232 (map)

A relic of the apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, held in Rome since antiquity, will be hosted at Holy Rosary for public veneration on Friday, August 23. St. Jude is invoked in desperate situations because his New Testament letter emphasizes that the faithful should persevere through harsh and difficult circumstances, just as their forefathers did. As a result, he is the patron saint of desperate situations, desperate causes, hospital workers, hospitals, impossible causes, and lost causes. Pilgrims will be able to receive an extraordinary Plenary Indulgence issued by Pope Francis and published by the Vatican’s Apostolic Penitentiary. The schedule for the day will be as follows:

·       6:00 AM Dominican Rite Low Mass (Latin)

·       7:00 AM Mass (English)

·       (No 11 AM confessions, 12 PM Mass, or Adoration)

·       2:00-6:30 PM Veneration of the Relic

·       2:00-4:00 PM Confessions

·       7:00 PM Mass for St. Jude (English)

·       8:30-10:00 PM Veneration of the Relic & Confessions
